It’s one of my favorite places, especially Joshua Tree. 🌵 Next time you visit Treat, check out the painting in one of our relaxation areas—it’s by a brilliant artist named Maggie, painted from a photograph I took during my first trip to Joshua Tree two years ago. We muted the colors a bit to give it a calming, spa-like vibe. I always feel so inspired every time I travel there!

Welcome to my new space! It’s been exactly ten years since I opened Treat. I remember my first client, I remember coming up with the name Treat. I was in skin school, and I was telling my teacher/mentor Nancy Shelley (who I still keep in contact with today) that I was going to start my own skincare business after graduating, and I was writing my business plan. She asked me what I was going to call it, and I said I wasn’t sure yet. She actually suggested the name Treat, and her eyes lit up when she said, “yea, it’s such a great name because ya know it’s a treat for your body and mind because facials feel so good but it’s also a treatment,” and that’s the moment Treat was born. This new chapter is such a logical progression, and I can honestly say this new space really found me, and it was love at first sight. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds and to introduce new services that are both a treat and a treatment @treat_mindbodyspa

Last week marked my first visit to the campus founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as part of my clinical week while pursuing my master's degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda. Have any of you been to Fairfield, Iowa? I'm guessing it's a hidden gem for many! Nestled among the corn and soy fields lies a small community known as Vedic City, and just a few miles away is the serene MIU campus.

The environment here is truly tranquil and ideal for consciousness-based learning. Throughout the week, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct Ayurvedic consultations and assessments and create treatment plans under the guidance of the Vaidya and a Medical Doctor. It was an extraordinary experience.

One of my favorite experiences of the week was being invited to meditate inside the Golden Dome. Word is that when Oprah visited campus and meditated inside the Golden Dome, she came out and said, 'That was amazing,' took two steps, and said, 'Wow, that was amazing,' took another two steps, and said, 'That was amazing,' and I couldn't agree more!

The Maharishi Tower of Invincibility symbolizes the belief in achieving global peace and invincibility through inner peace, primarily by practicing Transcendental Meditation. It represents the unity of different aspects of life, the integration of knowledge and consciousness, and the aspiration for higher states of well-being and spiritual growth.

The Vastu architecture, also known as Vastu Shastra, is an ancient Indian system of architectural design that emphasizes aligning buildings with natural elements and cosmic forces. It considers directional alignment, energy flow, layout, and design to create harmonious living or working environments. Vastu incorporates principles related to the five elements, cardinal directions, and spiritual significance.

My clinical week was truly amazing, filled with incredible learning experiences and the opportunity to connect with so many new people. Grateful for this special week and looking forward to the exciting path ahead!

So excited to share that last year I made the decision to return to school to pursue a Masters Degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda! The journey has been nothing short of amazing.
